Watch movies anytime, anywhere with Flex View

For me, the Holy Grail of mobile entertainment has always been the ability to stream movies and TV shows to my smartphone or tablet whenever and wherever I want them. It could be on a long car ride, a layover at an airport, or just a lazy Sunday morning on the couch. The idea that I can pick up my iPad, my smartphone, or even my daughter’s iPod touch and start watching a favorite show in seconds is what the mobile revolution is all about.

In recent years, streaming services like Netflix, Hulu Plus and Crackle have come close to my fulfilling my mobile entertainment dreams, but I have always shied away from subscription-based options. What I am looking for is an on-demand service where I can tailor everything – including price – to those whenever and wherever entertainment needs.

It turns out that I had the perfect mobile viewing option all along with Flex View, one of the many features available with FiOS TV. Flex View is an on-demand service, which allows you to buy or rent movies or TV shows and then watch them anytime on your TV, computer, smartphone or tablet.

Here’s how it works for mobile devices: First, you download the free Verizon FiOS On Demand app from your device’s app store. Supported devices include the iPad and iPad 2, the iPhone 3GS and later models, the 4th generation iPod touch, and dozens of Android and BlackBerry devices. (A full list of supported devices can be found here.) Once you have downloaded the app, you can start browsing the library of over 15,000 titles. To rent or purchase a title, you will need to sign in with your My Verizon username and password.

And that’s it! You can start downloading a movie or TV show and watch it immediately or you can store content in My Library and watch it later. Just remember to switch to Wi-Fi while downloading, so you can maximize the download speed and save that precious data allowance.

If you want to watch your on demand movies and TV shows on your computer, then you can manage your viewing through the Verizon Media Manager app. And if you want to watch your Flex View titles on your FiOS TV, then just press On Demand on your FiOS remote and select the Flex View option.

If you are a Verizon Residential customer, your purchases will be itemized on your Verizon Residential bill. Purchased videos can be downloaded on up to 5 different devices on the same On Demand account with no additional charge. If you are a FiOS TV subscriber, then all your set-top boxes will count as just one of your allotted devices.

Flex View allows you to take your favorite movies and TV shows with you wherever you go, with no additional sign-up and no monthly credit card charges. Just one more reason to switch to FiOS TV!
