8 Helpful Windows Phone Apps for Mom

By Robyn Wright

Moms are super busy people and wear a lot of different hats throughout the day. Luckily, we have a lot of apps to help with all those responsibilities. Moms can find apps to keep the entire family on schedule, track everyone’s health, plan family vacations, find out how to make those wings for the school play, and, of course, take amazing photos of all life’s special moments.

Windows Phones are perfect for moms who already use a Windows based computer. The continuity between operating systems makes a Windows phone simple to learn and easy to use. Here are a few Windows Phone apps that can really make a difference for mom:

Bing Food & Drink

Not only can you find recipes for dinner with Bing Food & Drink, but you can also get tips on how to prepare different food items, what wines to serve, and even create a shopping list. The app also includes instructional videos.

With HealthVault you can create a profile for each family member and easily track everyone’s health information. It includes the ability to keep measurements like weight, blood pressure and cholesterol. You can keep all your family’s medication information in one place, and you can even import test results, x-rays, and more from participating health providers.

Most moms are already using Facebook and it works great on Windows Phones too! The Facebook app lets Mom share updates, photos and videos, and keep up-to-date with friends and the extended family wherever they may be.

It’s usually down to Mom to make sure the family stays on budget and, with rising gas prices, that’s not always easy. GasBuddy helps you locate the lowest priced gasoline in your area. You can also report prices yourself to help others get the best deals.

With so many errands and appointments, moms need reliable maps to navigate the city. HERE Maps lets you download the maps you want, so that you can use them even when you don’t have an Internet connection. Great for those places where the network reception is iffy!

Tired of those photos where one of the kids is always looking the wrong way or someone has their eyes closed? Use Blink to take a short burst of images and then select the best photo to save, or you can share it instantly on Facebook or Twitter.

Keep everything you need all in one place with OneDrive. Save your photos, videos, documents, and more to your OneDrive account and then access them anywhere from just about any device. You can easily share your content with others as well. A must for all moms!

Plan a movie night for the family or date night just for adults. Flixster has all the information you need on the latest movies, upcoming releases, and even the latest DVDs. You can find local theater times and even link to Yelp to find nearby restaurants.
